One of the silver linings in the COVID-19 crisis is that it has called the Church to prayer. As people wrestle with anxiety, uncertainty and fear, followers of Jesus are crying out to God with prayers of lament, thanksgiving and petition.
Crossroads students too are praying fervently, and many of them are writing out their prayers and sharing them with us.
Here are a few prayers we recently received from students:
– “I ask for prayer for the entire planet that God frees us from the coronavirus.” -Jose in Kansas
– “I am praying for all the families that need peace and health for coronavirus. Please, I thank you in the name of our Lord God. I also pray for all of us so that there are no problems or lawsuits or anything so that everything is calm.” -Reyna in California
– “I would like to pray for all the people who contracted the virus and are suffering in isolation. May God bless them and protect them in their time of need.” -Alex in New York
And this powerful prayer of repentance from Aaron in Alabama:

Anthony prays this from death row in Texas:
And this from Robert in Indiana:
May we follow our students’ lead in faithfully praying for our world during these trying times. “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” -1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
