CBI Singapore is looking beyond its borders and extending its prison ministry into nearby Cambodia. Under the guidance of campus director Paul Tan, CBI lessons are delivered to students in Cambodia’s Takeo Correctional Center 3 by an on-site coordinator and a local pastor.
Since the CBI program was introduced in the facility, five students have graduated from Great Truths of the Bible and several others have enrolled.
Additionally, food and sixty ceiling fans were recently donated by CBI Singapore in an effort to improve living conditions in the facility. Early last year, CBI Singapore sent ten sows, a hand plow and Khmer Bibles to the incarcerated men in Cambodia.
In the upcoming year, CBI Singapore hopes to further minister to Cambodians by developing a recently purchased plot of land into a reentry center for released CBI students. The center will include an area for agricultural enterprise and skills training, and students will be provided with ongoing discipleship.
